I see your point...Yes they do throw a lot of light further...The only thing I can say is that before the LEDs at night in reverse, i would need to tap my brakes while baking up due to the fact the stock reverse are weak and I needed more light...Now it is not a problem backing up at all at night..I can use either the mirrors or the camera no problem 100% better... I would also say it is a safety feature..i dont think anybody in a parking lot would have any doubt you were backing up!They do make some 360 degree bulbs...which might throw more light around the truck as opposed to further away... my concern with this is that the LEDs are so bright in might wash out the camera picture...Fred
