Another thread on the forum turned me onto Jw Speaker a few days ago and after looking around a little I see they have an led projector for headlights. It got me thinking, why don't we retro LEDs instead of hids? Do the hids put out more light?

From what I could get together, it seems like LEDs are relatively new and havent quite been figured out yet like HIDs have. With HIDs being so far advanced now, they're the more practical light for headlights. Give it some time for people to get all the kinks worked out and Im sure LEDs will be the standard headlight in a few years.

its all too new and expensive. plus all the reflector housings/projectors are not made for LED so the light is not reflected where it needs to be. also if u look at the actual output of these LED projectors that are out now they are no where near as good as HID's in a projector

as stated above give it a few more years. they are not far out, its coming...

here, on frf
that and getting them dot approved is another cost factor. i think audi is the only car manufacturer that has dot approved led headlights. i could be wrong, but thats the last i heard.
