Exactly. Lol it’s 10 years later and now they need it.
I’m one of the few that specially ordered my Raptor with ever option but the tailgate step and that was because of all the quads and dirt bikes I hauled in my box and off-road gear, would of just damaged the step eventually.

I’m on the list for a 22 whenever that happens. I wanted the onboard power for Baja. I think I have to get the power tailgate and moon roof now? WTF!

Ok cool guy. You’re right though, I plan to put the truck’s MSRP in giant font across the back window just so people know.

95% of people commenting on Gen 3 ordered sight unseen, so that’s a great point… I should consult with you before making large purchases in the future, you seem to be amongst the most intelligent people on here. :)

I mean…it’s a stand alone option no? If it was a big deal to you & you also know you’re buying sight unseen I just don’t see how it even warrants a post, you’re the one buying the thing it’s up to you to check what options the truck does or doesn’t have. I don’t see how it’s fords fault. After my 2018 got wrecked when I was searching dealer inventory for a 2020 replacement I looked for one that met the min options/criteria I was going after.

Men never needed a tailgate step 10 years ago, just sayin........
Totally ok for disabled vets of any age and men of a mature age, which is a bit subjective of course. Just like it is ok for a man to ride on the back of a scooter or motorcycle- if they have just crashed on track. You gotta watch those blanket statements ;-)
Well you can always carry a small folding stool, I guess.
That is TOTALLY not the point! I use the stripper pole and a fist clamp for a rifle rest. Sometimes.

Pictures. Or it never happened.
Wait so if you ordered the truck, YOU picked the packages… so you should have known what your truck was coming with. Did you actually order it or just take a dealer stock order. I have ordered about 8 auto and I knew exactly EVERY option that was supposed to be on the cars/suv/truck. I spent hours checking a double checking. I guess when I am spending 75-100k on an auto, I damn sure know exactly what I am getting.

The p!mp slap is strong in this one.

I love how every thread on here always ends the same. Several people throw their comments in about how much better they would have done whatever you’re talking about.

You’ve missed the point of my original post, which is that a nearly loaded truck should come with basic options. Some options you expect to be there with high trim levels, so forgive me for not checking. My last three Raptors had the option without triple checking. I guess I shouldn’t have assumed it came with power windows too, thank god it has that.

I’ll add you to my list of people to consult for my next purchase.

Some of us went through the same drama 4 years ago. Yeah, I agree, the tailgate step is legit and used to be a great buy in, and I’m definitely not a fan of the proposed ’22 packaging.
I took a ration or cr@p here from a bunch of users for my pre-purchase check list, hacked together from a post on here from other purchasers who had encountered trouble. I was at the stealership for almost 4 hours, got pictures from every angle inside and out, checked fluids, tires, cables, battery connections, hoses, clamps and anything else I could get my hands on or see. Test drove it for a while, came back, checked it again, made sure every button, dial, lever etc. did something expected, radio, satellite, sync - all before the saleslady walked me through everything. Then we did paperwork, which took under 30 minutes. It would have been less but I bought spare keys, programmed. At least I didn’t have a radiator hose pop off on the way home. That did happen to someone here.

So add me to your consult for next purchase list, happy to give you some pointers. :p ;-)

I use my step fairly infrequently, but usually when I am packing up for a trip (getting in and out of the bed a bunch in a short period of time). It definitely makes getting in and out of the bed easier.

The best part of the step is to put it down and sit on the tailgate. Makes a great foot rest.

You’re on my consultant list for my Gen 4 purchase :)

Hell it’s becoming more of a consultant board at this point.

It’s not a stand alone option. If it doesn’t warrant a post, does it warrant a response?
