During the plan/scamdemic, my Porsche dealer offered me more than I paid for my year old, 12k mile Cayenne GTS. Sticker when I bought it, in December 2020, was 127k. I paid 117k. They offered $120k. That was a very tough offer to refuse. Trouble was, I was not buy a beater for however long until prices came back down to earth, and there was nothing comparable to replace it with. I actually went to an Acura dealer, having owned many over the years. The Cayenne is my wife's vehicle. She always liked the MDX. She test drove it, said she wanted it. I was about to buy it and then go trade the Porsche in for the 120. That's when the salesman/thief said they are getting 5k over sticker. Uh for an Acura? Not from me they weren't. I told him thanks for wasting my time and we walked.

Today that Cayenne has about 18k miles on it, a newer version has hit the market, and it's worth maybe 80k on trade. A 40k hit in two years. Oh, well. It still drives like the day it was new, has been completely trouble free.

I owned a “seriously modded” 20 GMC 1500… HUGE mistake…. then a 21 F150 Tremor n now a 22 Raptor 37”. Tremor is nothing special at all. It’s a nice truck but as soon as ford started putting the same exact package on the FX4 Lariat it lost its place as a “Cool Truck” in my eyes. It just didn’t have “That feel”… ya know. Raptor is king unless you need to tow then it’s a Plati.

I stopped buying German vehicles cause of the serious depreciation. I miss my BMWs and Porsches but don’t miss the headache.

Other than maybe a Cayman or Boxster in my future as a funmobile, I too would not buy another, but not for that reason. Hopefully one day in the not too distant future we will move either west or south and will probably be far from a Porsche dealer for service.

Have you considered a R? the depreciation on those will prolly be the least and youll have the best of both worlds, a v8 raptor!

Raptor R > 5.0 + 3.0 tremor > 5.0L tremor > 3.5L raptor

I would love a Raptor R. Can’t stomach paying a dealer more than Ford thinks they should cost

If you put some time into it you can get one for 10k over like a member just did. the longer you wait the easier you can get one for msrp. prices are falling as the "improved" 24 is coming out. gouging dealers are starting to realize sitting on a R for too long is costing them too much and need to get rid of them. trying to sell 23s when its 2024 gets harder to do and if there are dealer incentives from ford they dry up when dealers hold onto vehicles too long. the market for the need to be the first has dried up
