This probably will not work for those of us with the 801A package since it declares that this kit "will not work with the Sony Audio Subwoofer System"

Just a guess, but I think it means that you cannot keep the Sony sub and the Kicker sub and that the Kickers sub replaces the OEM Sony sub. I would contact them to verify.

Ya I saw that after the fact. I wonder why

the reason it says not compatible is because it comes with a 4ch amp. since it is already amplified it wont do much good. also the front tweeters in our truck have a seperate channels so to avoid wiring project, i would not use the system.

Ford F-150 Audio System Upgrade - Complete Kit - Crew Cabs - With 4.2 or 8 Inch Display (Part No: DL3Z-18808-A)

I *just* picked up this exact kit this past weekend on ebay for $499 plus $18 shipping from Rogel Ford. According to Ford, the kit is plug and play for the non-Sony system trucks, to fit Sony system trucks connectors would need to be cut and splicing done....but it will work. I've confirmed with my stereo guy who installed this very kit on an FX4 with the Sony system a few weeks ago with some "MacGyvering".
I may also upgrade the tweeters and center channel in the dash as well since I got such a good deal on this kit.

Will post when I get it installed!

i just finished putting jl audio throughout the whole truck and was about 1000 out the door if you install it your self. It is night and day from the ford sony system. I would say save up the extra 500 and you will be very happy.
