We'll reach out to them to make sure they're aware of these comments and folks are looking for an update.

Update:

Spoke with KHC. There are apparently different castings for the rear axle on the newer model years. This is confirmed for the 2019 and 2020 models, but there may be some 2018's out there as well since it's unknown when Ford switched the castings.

If you're concerned about the torque arm or are experiencing any issues, please reach out to Steve. Contact info below. He asked that you notify him of your cab configuration and model year.

So, I am waiting for mine to be delivered since 1/23/20 order date and I am wonder if the delay is they are modifying this unit.

Since this is such a "new" issue I doubt it. My guess is that they haven't been able to get stuff to powder coat but I would email them to see what is going on. Kinda makes you wonder though since they were looking to keep their guys "busy" with the tailgate braces sale thing they got going on.

Steve mentioned to me about making a new cradle, but you literally just need to cut the stupid bracket... *shrug*. At this point I wouldn't chance it with an '18 +. You can't tell until you test fit the cradle. That either leaves you with my "mod" or you can play the shipping game with KHC.

*side note* After solving my issues I'm still really impressed with how different the truck acts. Transmission shifting is way more pronounced now though and seems more clunky. Almost like the slop that was there before the torque arm covered up the crappy shifting. Guess it's about time to bite the bullet for TCM tune.

I already contacted Steve as instructed and this was his reply.

"HEY MAN,

FIRST OF ALL THANKS FOR GETTING INVOLVED IN THE GROUP BUY. AND WE APOLIGIZE FOR THE ISSUE. WE WERE UNAWARE THERE WAS A PROBLEM UNTIL IT STARTED GOING ON SOME OF THE NEWER TRUCKS. WERE GOING TO DEVELOP A SIMPLE CAD DRAWING WHICH WILL ALLOW EVERYONE TO CHECK IF THEYRE GOING TO HAVE ISSUES BEFORE INSTALLING. ILL BE SURE TO FORWARD THIS CHEAT SHEET TO YOU AS SOON AS ITS COMPLETED AS WELL AS HAVING CHRIS BLAST IT ON THE FORUM.

I feel as though they should pay for shipping both ways correct the bracket and re-powder coat it as that would be the responsible thing to do if they believe in great Customer service.

Even though this is expensive the cost really shouldn't come into play.

I realize sometimes things happen as in this case maybe a design change but as far as I was concerned I was purchasing what I thought was a new concept design and that there wouldn't be any issues after installing his product.

Sure, I could modify it myself but the point is I shouldn't have to. It's the manufacturers responsibility to ensure proper fitment of their product.

KHC is going to send out replacement parts and prepaid labels for the existing parts to be sent back. Confirmed. You aren’t paying.
