Wondering if this has happened to anyone else. My truck and keyfob is only 5 months old and technically 7 months old from built from factory.

Today my keyfob would not work at all. I was standing right next to the truck and nothing. Unlock, Lock, Start or Alarm would not do anything, not a peep. Never had that happen before. At first I thought, wow I got a dead battery in the FOB already.

I opened the door with my Ford Remote Start iPhone app (and started it before that mind you) and drove off. When I got home, the FOB worked, locked the truck. I even tried unlocking, starting and alarm, all worked perfectly. Weird.

What the heck happened?

Mine is about a month old, but I've only driven it a few times (went on 3 week vacation within days of picking it up) and this happened to me twice. Both times I was parked at the same McDonald's Restaurant. I had to lock the doors manually before closing the door. When I went to leave I had to use the key to unlock the door. Then, before I started the engine, the alarm went off. It stopped when I started the engine. Once I got to my next location everything worked fine.

it's the crappy ford key fob. Open it up, clean anything if needed, and spin the battery around. I have to do mine every 4-6 months.

Yea what macf said. I had to do that about 3 months after picking IP the truck. Fob would work some days, other days not at all, till I did this. Worked like a charm.
