While getting my 4 day old Raptor set up, I thought I'd find the jack and check it out. For those who don't know, on a SCREW it's located under the rear seat. There are two screw posts located near the passenger side that hold the jack box in place below the floor. To access, remove the storage bin by pulling it up. To the left side, you will see the jack box. Before it can be pulled out the two screw posts need to be loosened / removed. The jack box has two red cloth handles on it to help remove it. The jack is a typical scissors type jack. This is also where the spare tire tool and lug wrench are located. On the right side of the opening is where the wheel chock and jack head are stored. They sit in a molded piece of styrofoam. When I tried to remove the assembly, I couldn't. I had to get physical with pull on that thing to get it out.:flipthebird: It was really wedged in there. Once I removed it, I took the tools out of it. I used my pocket knife to trim down the top and bottom to allow it to move in and out of the storage location much easier.

Just a note, if you haven't tried to remove yours yet, you may want to. Just to know that you can get it out in case you really need it. And if you trim it before you put it back. You won't have to fight it out. And your recovery time would be a bit faster too.

The trimmed portion of the styrofoam is lighter in color than the rest. Once it was trimmed, I was able to slide it into the storage location much easier.

Here are some photos of the jack box and other tools:
(I wanted to post more, but the limit was 5)

I wonder WONDERING what the crap was over there on the right! I hadn't bothered to pull it out yet - I gave it a tug when I was messing around installing my underseat box and it really seemed like it was solidly in there. Thanks for this post!

I may have to go look at how the hell that thing works. I assumed it was just your typical scissor jack in the case, I had no idea I had to use the crap on the right for something... I'm still not sure I know what it's for, but I'm betting I'd figure it out if I needed to use it.

I did the EXACT same thing. I fought like hell to get that stupid thing unwedged from the drivers side, and before putting it back in shaved the top off with my utility knife. MUCH better now!

It holds a wheel chock, and the jack extension that bolts onto the scissor jack to allow enough height for the taller raptor.

I also was able to fit a number of things under that carpeted tray that pops out to reveal the jack storage. I fit a tire plug kit, a couple rags, a pair of rubber gloves, 2 rolls of electrical tape, and a pack of zip ties, all under that carpeted tray. The basic MacGuyver roadside kit to cobble things together if ever needed lol. In the carpeted tray itself I've just got a couple clean MF towels and a stack of hand warmers.

hand warmers... thats a good ideal.... Yeah, there is quite a bit of room under there.

Did you notice, that the drain holes in the bottom only had a sticker over them? Hope that keeps the moisture out... :fishing1:

Good stuff. Tried to yank mine out and it'll only budge an inch or two.
