I just use a cut up plastic milk jug as a funnel. The R is a pita because it hold 12 quarts. I “almost” never make a mess. I do agree, stupid design.

I bought that after my last oil change. Going to install and try it out on my next one. I have a ‘17 with the plastic pan.
