iPhone 5 sync update needed ???

Hey. Al I got my phone on fri n was playing around with it today. I was trying to sync it to my truck wasn't able to I got to work and my boss told me I had to update the sync Bluetooth on the veichle did anyone run into this problem??

It took me two tries to get it synced... But it works perfect now... I have yet to look into an update for it

The problem I have with 4s is no text capabilities. Only voice, not sure if its same prob with the 5

We're you able to sync your i5. My 4s works jst having trouble with the 5. Wat year is you truck. ? Mine is 11

what are you able to /an not to do ..... i have never been able to have any text capabilities with it . I have the phone ,an iphod thats it .

My Samsung S3 everything works great and the texting is a great feature it reads the texts and you can reply back

I synced my iPhone5 up to my 2012 yesterday and I sent a text message through the system too. It would say my phone was not supported with my prior iPhones when I tapped the Messages in the Nav.

Oh so texting works with the iPhone 5? Good to know. Now if the two would just play nice with displaying song text on the sync screen via bluetooth.

I don't think that is true. It requires that the Message Access Profile (MAP) be enabled in the bluetooth stack. It isn't a limitation of the hardware from iPhone 4 to iPhone 5, it is a limitation of the software. iOS 6 added the MAP profile, which I believe all iPhone 5's shipped with.

In short, you must upgrade your iPhone 4(s) to iOS 6 to use text messaging with it. I can't explain why Apple upgraded the bluetooth hardware with the original iPhone 4, but didn't enable MAP until very recently.

Disclaimer, I don't have an iPhone so I can't test these claims. Just information I've found while reading and researching how to get my Android device to work.
