Hey All,

Raptor mine for a week now and I have the following choices to make,..or maybe you can advise on better ones....Head is spinning....ANY input would be GREATLY appreciated.

1. Raptor has a factory Back flip, but I need to take care of the bed with a liner and the drainage tubes may be in the way..I am leaning towards a line x spray...got quote for 500.

2. Considering undercoating.....line x on wells and rockers...or AMSOIL HD through out??....Rust is a MAJOR problem in Wayne county PA. The truck is not new..has 56,00 but clean under/over/in/out.

3. Need more lights...main reason, deer in woods and fog. I am leaning to MandR fog-light kit, running 2 amber floods and one white spot IF I KEEP THE BUMBER....which brings me to next point....

4. Deer, deer, deer and lots of forest roads....always ran brush guards on my truck...HATE IT FOR THE RAPTOR....pre runner mod, or any other ideas.

5. I need some lights on the back end..(bed included)...anyone seen any rigs for that

6..and finally...maybe wrong forum..but if I cant pull off amid perch....is a 2" leveling kit a viable option...cons?

THANK YOU

Scott

Definitely go line-x, I would look into a pre runner bumper, something that stands off the truck something, like a ADD STEALTH,or something a little more HD like the IRONBULL, god forbid a deer runs out on you want the bumper to do the job, not the HOOD, GRILL AND FENDERS, that are plastic/composite, as for lifting the truck, 90% on here did MID perch, and others have have good luck with the spacer/blocks, your call on that one, as for lights the bumpers stated will hold more than enough lights for you.

Pretty much all of us who do the line-x do the wheel wells, now when you say under side, are talking removing the bed and sprying? that is going to drive your price up, but it would be bullet proof, Rockers are up to you, your truck, and your thoughts on how you want it to look, there's a hand full of members who have it done, just do some seaching.

Agreed of course, but I was mostly inquiring about the effectiveness of the line x on the rockers vs the amsoil.
thank you again

Wayne county pa, red shale mud, gravel, fog, river dew and calcium and cinders on roads...frames get eaten up like French fries here...that is the reason I am looking into amsoil vs line x...my 2002 fx4 is toast...

Scott - Hope this helps!

1. If you've got the BakFlip, I think you can save yourself some money and get a cheaper bedliner than Line-X. With the BakFlip F1 on my truck, I laid down some cheap-o Toff Bed Liner and then put a BedRug mat on top. Cost me $200 for the bedliner. Just an idea to save you some money unless you're really hard on your bed.

2. I'm from Texas so I can't help you on the rust prevention.

3. We've got you covered in lights. We offer some of the brightest fog lights on the market. We have the Apollo4 available in a 5w or 10w white that puts out 2200 lumens in the 5w and 3200 lumens in the 10w. We also offer the Apollo4 with true amber LEDs, no covers needed. Check those out here: Apollo4 | Apollo Optics, Inc. | Premium LED Off-Road Lighting

Another option would be the Apollo 6. This the same size as the Apollo4 but features 6x 5watt LEDs in a driving beam pattern. Check those out here: Apollo6 | Apollo Optics, Inc. | Premium LED Off-Road Lighting

We also have plenty of other lighting options for the stock bumper including 20" bars for the lower grille and 40" and 30" bars to go behind the upper grille. Let me know if you have any more questions on those.

4. I second the words of others when I say that you'd be good with a more aggressive bumper that sticks out from the bumper a little more. I'd recommend the ADD Stealth or ADD Stealth Fighter bumpers. And don't worry, we've got you covered on the lighting for that bumper as well ;)

5. For rear lighting, you have a couple options. You could put Apollo4 or Apollo6 lights on bed mounts next to the cab or on below the bumper mounts under the rear bumper. TMX offers mounting brackets for both locations. We also offer flush mount lights that are perfect for the rear bumper. You can check those out here: Apollo4 Flush Mount | Apollo Optics, Inc. | Premium LED Off-Road Lighting

6. I'd recommend mid-perch over a leveling kit. And the best part is, if you have access to the tools, it's a free mod!

Hope this helps and if you have any more questions about the lighting or anything else, don't hesitate to contact me, I'd be happy to help!

Welcome to FRF,

Nick
