Welcome to FRF.

If this would have been last summer I would of had a laundry list of crap MFT wouldn't do right.. but sense that last update in late summer it has worked very well.

The only thing I can think of that it does wrong is in the Nav. When heading down route 95, the next direction should be an exit 50 miles away.. but it will randomly chime in to tell you to continue on 95 instead of getting off the next exit. Then it will continue to do this for the next half dozen or so exits.. very annoying.

If I put a gps topo map chip like this into the memory card slot I assume it will not work properly (see link). Is there a format or way to put a topo map memory card into the unit that will allow it to fully function? These are an invaluable tool for determining landownership, public access, roads and trails that aren't on regular navigation devices, i.e. for off-road "Raptoring". I would love it if the navigation screen were compatible with this which can be used in all Garmin devices. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hey, TheWolf -

My department does not support the Remote Access Application, but I can point you in the right direction.

For all the details call: 800.367.3539 (FORDKEY) or visit: www.fordremoteaccess.com

Jaclyn

So I called that number and ended up with a third-party vendor that tells me that the Vehicle Security System does not have an infrared theft sensor, only a shock sensor. The guy was rude and tried to tell me that the shock sensor is what uses infrared but could not explain how that would be considered an "Interior Theft Sensor".

The Ford Custom Accessories website states "IT-s (Interior Theft Sensor) uses infrared technology to protect vehicle contents" but I cannot find a way to actually talk to someone who works for Ford that can explain why their website lists something that apparently is not part of the security system. The FAQ on the website says to talk to the dealer but my dealer had never even seen one of these before.

Can you please PM me a contact at Ford who can help with this?

I agree with this. Even trying to use breadcrumbs via MFT is very poor when off-roading. I would love to utilize Hunting GPS maps.

Next is the front camera, the logic for this is poor. There is numerous times in which I want to know what's in front of the truck but why do I have to be in 4 Low/lockers on and in off road mode? Even if I were to park up to another vehicle, building, etc or know we're the front painted parking line is it would be nice to just enable the camera, oh wait let me put it in 4 lo/off road mode with lockers to see the front camera in a paved parking lot...I guess I can back in and use the rear camera to not jump thru so many hoops. There's been numerous times off road as we'll in which I don't need lockers nor off-road mode as the terrain is dry and rocky and it would be nice to be able to enable the camera, I have no issues with it disabling as the speed increases, but I think at lower speeds on should be able to enable it no matter what mode the truck is in.

+1 Just search this forum for "nav-tv" to see how many of us are paying good money to control the front camera. It's incredibly useful for parking in close quarters.

I agree it's a pain.. but you don't have to be in 4wd low or even 4wd. It just requires off-road mode & the locker on, then just enable the camera from the dash menu.

Welcome aboard.

I would love to see the Nav system get updates automatically, like Google maps, etc... Instead of being charged a ridiculous fee for the Map updates. Concur with others about needing or having offroad Nav, front camera, etc….

You get charged for map updates?

If I remember correctly, Ford sent me a letter in the mail last year directing me to the MFT website where I "purchased" for zero dollars a new nav SD card.

I have the 2011 Sony Nav, they want $300 for an update. It's good to hear the update for MFT is free, but I don't plan on buying a new Raptor just to get the MFT. Hell the Garmin ZUMO 550 on my bike only costs me $150 for a lifetime subscription for map updates.

the Raptors nav should be disconnected from the wheel speed sensor so when we run larger tires the nav doesn't go all crazy and put you in a field on the other side of the road.
