First off,
I own a 2017 Avalanche Raptor with 22k miles,” knock on wood “ no major problems.
Yesterday I was following a 2017 Raptor super crew the other day. I was admiring the color due to mine being the same when all of a sudden the truck started pouring white smoke out of the driver side exhaust pipe. Not a slight whiff of smoke or little puffs, this thing was blowing clouds.
The poor gal driving looked panicked as she pulled over into the next corner gas station.
The first thing that came to my mind was that I got the same year truck and I pray this never happens to me.
That evening I was telling a friend of mine the story, who also owns an 18’ Raptor and he told me that one of his longtime customers owns a fleet of 30 F150’s with 3.5 eco boost engines. All but 3 F150’s have been diagnosed with oil leaking into the turbo exhaust. 27 out of 30, damn!
To be honest, I don’t know a whole lot about turbo engines but would this be a cause of that smoking Raptor?
