I have a JLT 3.0 catch can installed on my truck for the last 6 months/9200ish miles. In that time I've popped now 4 CELs regarding crankcase ventilation and have yet to find a lasting remedy.

This last one happened while I was cruising at 72mph down 95 like I had been for the proceeding 4 hours. No hard shunt, no change in operation and the DTC was tripped. It seems the sensor for detecting crankcase pressure is extremely sensitive. Was wondering if anyone else has had similar experience and what if any solutions anyone has.

At this time I'm thinking about using some sort of heat resistant tape or something to ensure the hoses/clamps from the catch can are snug as constantly clearing this CEL and that sinking feeling you get when the light goes on is getting annoying.

I would reach out to the manufacturer for support. If the product is properly installed and continues to cause a CEL, they should be the ones to held responsible to resolve it.

I have Radian catch cans and I get the code as well from time to time. I think the PCV sensor is really sensitive. The good news is that I have learned that it clears itself after a couple of key cycles. It’s annoying but I just ignore it at this point.

Update: after getting in touch with Vinny from JLT (great customer service btw), he recommended this insert for my intake. He says they often see P04DB as a result of an aftermarket intake as the sensor is drivers side crankcase not passenger side as the catch can would suggest. I'm going to give it a shot as it's only a $20 part and should stop it from coming back.

Any updates? I have a Roush air intake (without the tune installed yet) and P04db last night after driving for 3 hours while towing maybe 2k lbs up mountain passes here in CO.

Went to the dealer, who said it was too dangerous to reset (no tech’s available since it’s Saturday). I don’t have my OBDII so I went to NAPA and borrowed their’s to reset.

Yes! Since the last post I've gone stage 2 Goosetune, and had the CEL pop AGAIN. This time I talked to Win about it who was able to update my tune to ignore that particular CEL. Since then, (8ish months) I haven't had P04DB come back.

From my experience, either stay stock or tune it away.

My understanding of this fix is that the CEL just won’t turn on so you could be having it.

So the truck is trying to tell you there’s a problem and the solution you had was to ignore that problem.

Your tuner knows your truck better than anyone here so I’m knocking your solution. My point is to make a cautionary tale for others reading this. Not two problems could be the same and someone else could think this is a good solution for all issues.

there was a change in the 19+ that this is an issue. never had a issue on my 18 with the JLT, it was just on the passenger side as well though. something about the unequal flow levels between the the drivers and pass side on the 19+'s
