I had 3M clear bra on my last vehicle for over 6 years. It really does protect the paint from rock chips, etc. The problem is that after about 6 months to a year, once it has bug juice and bird crap on it, and you've tried to scrub the bug juice off and bird crap off, you end up with a slightly yellowing, hazy plastic film with fine scratches over the front of the vehicle. It doesn't buff out, even with a professional bufffer. So, essentially it is a trade off. You get the protection, but you have to live with less than desirable looks. Just had clear bra quoted for my Raptor and it's $600 for frontal wrap, mirrors and leading edge of rocker panels. Not an expense you would want to incur every couple of years. So, I'm leaning toward getting a low profile hood protector and calling it good. Heck, I can probably re-paint the front end in a couple of years for $600. Any other ideas? Anyone recommend a good hood protector? Thanks.
