So after getting my truck this morning by buddy gouged a flare. He was nice enough to order one today for me but I gotta put it on. Whats the best way to attack it without breaking clips?

I've asked the same question concerning removal and replacement and never recieved any answer. I finally let the dealer deal with it, but if you need the proceedures from the Manaul, here they are. PM me and I'll send it to you, the file is too large to post.

Remove the screws from the bottom, start from the back gently popping the clips out until you get 2-3 popped. then use a clip tool and get behind there to push the clips out from the slots they are in on the flare. this is especially important on the gray ones toward the front of the front fenders. the clips should all be stuck in the fender when you're done, don't try to rip them out.

once you get the flare off use the clip tool again to gently pry the clips out of the fender by depressing the notches with the clip tool and sliding them out of their holes.

Just to clarify, I will slowly pry the flare off starting in the back. The plastic clips will pop out of the flare and remain in the fender?
How will they clip back onto the flare? Should I buy new clips with the new fender flare?

I spoke with the Stealership and they told me just to "RIP" off the flare. It's plastic so it'll break off pretty easy (they said)...

correct, the flares have slotted holes in them that the clips slide in to. you can "slide" the flare off the clips one at a time, and they will remain in the fender. the hardest part is getting the first one popped off, that's your worst risk of damaging the clip or flare. after that just pry it back and stick a clip too behind to pop them out or just slide the flare off the clips.

the clips may remain in the fender, then you can just use a hook tool to get the clips out, slide them back on to the fender and when you reinstall just line up the holes and pop them all in.
