Help me out with some ??? about my next mod. SVC tune or Lowrance external antenna

I would go with the tune. Reason I say that is you have a concern (power and shifting) that bugs you all the time vs an intermittent concern (occasional loss of GPS signal). So, I would recommend addressing your more consistent issue first. From personal experience I think you will be happy with the improvement from SVC tune. Had the other then switched. Very happy after the change.

Also had the external antenna and the signal gain was tremendous. It is a very worthwhile investment. Plan on another when I put a Lowrance in again.

You will definitely get the "butt dyno" power increase and driveability you are looking for with the SVC tune. Having just a k&n filter isn't going to do much in that department by itself.

A good tune absolutely makes a noticeable difference in the butt dyno for these trucks. Well, it does if you have a CAI which you do. tbone drove my truck down to Noah's and was so impressed he immediately ordered a tune. I went with a single 91 performance/tow tune.

An antenna would be a lot cheaper than the tune/tuner and it's obviously important. Especially with the upcoming Black Ops run since you won't be able to see the dust clouds to help follow if your GPS cuts out.

I'm leaning towards an antenna. Do you have the point 1 or the point 1 Baja?

If you go the Antenna Route, you need the Point 1 Baja. The Antenna itself is the same with the Point 1 and the Point 1 Baja, but the Baja comes with additional parts and the power cord, which is why it's $250 versus $199.

If by chance you get just the Point 1, you can get the additional parts from Lowrance for $70.

Here is my set-up. I installed the antenna on the cross member of the RPG mount. I wanted it inside for protection and since the mount frame is sloped downward, it's barely noticable there. The Antenna does make a big difference.

The screws go through the cowl holes and I have a piece of lexan under the cowl and it pinches tight. Reason, no new holes and not a single reception issue.

Cannot comment on the antenna issue, but the tune will make a big difference addressing your needs for shifting, lag, etc. It is money well spent. I had the 5-star and loved it. So much I went SC. Get the tune!
