Has Anyone added backup sensors to their raptor?

I am wondering if this is a plug and play project from a wiring perspective? If so, then in theory the 2013 bumper could be purchased and it would truly be just like factory, yes?

to properly install backup sensors you need to drill the sensors into the bumper. since the sensors have a speaker, and a control box that can not get wet they both need to be ran into the truck. you have to route the wires along the factory wire harness and usually there is a rubber grommet underneath where you can get the wires into the cab. you will also need to catch the reverse wire, either at the light in back and run it up with the others

or for the 2010 f150 the wire is grey/brown at the battery junction box. it is in the engine compartment, behind the radiator on vehicles with auto dimming interior mirror or rear view camera, can also use blue (+) in the passenger kick harness to the rear.

for the 2011-2012 f150 its blue/white at the bcm (body control module) 32 pin plug pin 13. the bcm is in the passenger kick

normally this is a 2 hour job. from measuring out your holes, drilling holes (which sucks because those bumpers are tough to get through) running wires, connecting power, mounting the speaker and finding some lucky idiot to stand behind your truck while you are in reverse

Since the 2013 is standard with back up alarm, you could buy the bumper since it'll already have the holes drilled and sensors probably placed?

so a backup camera and a backup sensor on the new 2013s? didnt know that.
the problem you might have is going to be getting the oem module for the backup system and having a non 13 raptor wired for it. i am sure the wiring will be a pain, as goes with any oem wiring, but integration will be an adventure for sure. you might just want to go aftermarket. does the same thing, looks the same, makes the same annoying noise, and much cheaper.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I am hoping that because so many F150s have backup sensors, even in Model year 12, that the harness is not unique to the raptor and I can tap or even plug the sensors into existing wires. Yes, I am thinking I can buy a 2013 bumper with sensors already installed at the very least.

As for why? I am a bit embarrassed to admit it, but I have become so used to the sensors in other and former vehicles, that I nearly back into things all the time. Lazy driving, I know. And then the other night, I was backing into a spot and there was a fire extinguisher box mounted out of camera view but enough to catch my bumper. Luckily I didn't scratch or dent it when I hit it because i was going so slow but it's just a matter of time. Depending on what it would cost I just want to look into doing it for the extra safety factor.

i would check first with the dealer to see if your truck is even wired for the sensors. if its not, then there is no point in buying a bumper with the sensors already installed because it will ony work with the oem system

Agreed...that was the point of my questions. My thought was that because so many F150's have them, I wasn't sure if there was a common wiring harness to the back or if it was unique based on whether that option was ordered. I was hoping a tech or someone here knew, but I will check with the dealer.
