Where can you get that close to the canyon?
Not exactly sure where John is in that picture but there are lots of spots that are off the beaten path where you can see the Grand Canyon that close. Toroweap Overlook, Point Sublime, Jumpup, etc.

Exactly Right my UT Brother.
This was Twin Point, which was a 12 hr day in the Saddle RT from Mesquite. There are literally Hundreds of “EDGE OF THE RIM” Canyon Viewpoints and Overlooks throughout the GCPNM. The main issue right now is it getting dark at 1700. NOT A PLACE TO NAVIGATE AT NIGHT without prior knowledge and excellent Navigation Skills. It’s over a Million acres of Incredibly Beautiful Landscape. Some of the Canyon Viewpoints are easily accessible…. Until the conditions change. The rout to Tuweep is SUBARU OUTBACK accessible now because the MFING BLM keeps blading roads that keep the idiots out. Idiots come now along with their inability to FNING pack-out, what they bring in :(
I’ve been to Tuweep when it was an easy drive, but late December when it snowed and rained…the roads turn to GA Clay. You better have a shovel and some MAXTRAX because it’s a $500-1k tow from Kanab.
I think I posted some shots from that GA Clay Trip to Tuweep.
Bottom line. Almost all of the Canyon Rim adventures would best include an overnight stay on/ Near the Rim especially this time of year.
