Hey guys, just wanted to post about my great experience at Stillen in Costa Mesa, CA. I just got my Raptor back this Friday and I am very happy with results. Adam Hume at Stillen was very helpful and professional throughout the process.

I know they have done a few other Raptors as well. Seems like they are becoming a popular place to get Whipples installed.

I love the fact that they do Dyno testing on site before and after. My Raptor had 327 rwhp before and 453 rwhp after. I believe the results could be better except they hit the 110 mph limiter in 4th gear. Also, it was pretty hot on Friday, about 90 degrees.

I am overall happy with the speed improvements, although I think the Whipple tune is a bit conservative. If your truck is stock from the factory, you will be 100% satisfied. But if you had a performance tune from 5Star like me, you will notice that the Whipple tune is a bit less aggressive. I may look into getting a tune by John Lund to get firmer shifts and throttle response.

looks great, the 453 rwhp is with stock headers ? did they install the tune on the SCT or they sand the ECM to Whipple ?

Nice to see you finally got it done, Mike

Have you talk to Whipple about their SCT Tune?
You have the SCT Tool so you would only need to get a Tune from them.

At least you would be able to increase the speed limiter and shifting is a tad better then the Whipple/Ford Tune, from what others have given me feedback.

If you decide to go to Jon Lund be sure to post!!!!

Yep, just stock headers. They did send the ECM to Whipple. They said that was the only way they could do it. From what I've been reading, it sounds like that may make things a bit more difficult for me if I want to change the tune.

Thanks MTF! I do have the SCT Tuner that I got from 5Star. The guys at Stillen told me that one of the other Raptors owners got his retuned by Lund. So I may inquire further about how he got that done. Even with the Whipple tune, it's still a blast. I'm very happy I got it done.

I don't have any complaints either being all stock and Whipple/Ford Tune.
And it is the only way you can use the Whipple supplemental powertrain warranty.
Maybe firmer shifting from 1st to 2nd at WOT would make my smile even bigger.

Without building the engine and transmission, I'm happy as well where I'm at.

MTF, do you have a persistent whistling noise with your Whipple? I've noticed it with mine. It's not very loud but it's always there. Even when I'm just idling.

No, there shouldn't be any whistling noise.
Are you sure it's whistling and can you pin point where you think it's coming from?

Maybe you can make a video and post it up to YouTube.

Hummmm,
Cell phone sounds are not always clear in videos (just to point that out)

Sounds like a pulley squeal (like a bearing not belt slipping) to me from outside but inside the cab it sounds like an air leak.
This is tuff with just a video but yeah something is kind of louder than the norm.

There are other videos on YouTube and I'll get one up of mine for some comparison.
Livernois 2.9 Whippled Raptor is a good long video on YouTube.
