Nothing like And I don’t even off road that much. Not too many places in NC to off-road except beaches.
Yeah, where I'm at the closest I get to off-roading where I'm at is a relative telling me I can turn around in their field when helping them move equipment during harvest time. I hope that changes sometime soon - I want to do more than just commute to work, lol.

Fortunately, your FRF family gets it.

Insensitive woke-ist. Raptors are binary, without exception. Most are female. Thing is a pejorative and grave insult to a Raptor. NEVER transport this person in your Raptor or he/she will be greatly offended.
At least there are people out there who don't think I'm insane for not buying a Honda Accord, lol. Nice cars though - just not for me.

Mine is male - named it Derek :) Name just came to mind and it stuck. Maybe that's why the transmission is so finicky - I already made that mistake, lol.

Hi everyone! Bought my first Raptor earlier this year and I decided to join the forum!

I had driven relative's trucks (Rangers, F-350 XL, and a F-450) when doing work or helping them out, but I had always thought I'd stick with sedans. Ever since I'd seen a Gen1 Raptor, they sparked my interest. When my old Taurus was about to go, I saw a Gen2 Raptor and went for it. What an adjustment - 2006 Taurus to 2017 Raptor, lol. It's got some quirks, but so far, I have no regrets :)
Went from a 2000 Taurus to Gen1. Raptor for life!

There may be an update to help the tranny or the dealer can flush the adaptive table and have it relearn again. This can happen a lot on Gen 2’s and that lousy out of the blue harsh shift. Also a TCM tune can change up the whole transmission to a more pleasant experience.

Years ago I would have paid heavily for a good shift kit that slammed all the gears hard in my auto trans cars. Who didn’t want to chirp tires besides @CoronaRaptor lmao
That's what they did back in August. It helped a lot. I'm hoping that's all it needs :( Thankfully, I have a tolerance for quirks - my old Taurus was the definition of a quirk. Gives a vehicle some character :D

It's got a warranty still thankfully, so whatever happens, that should soften the blow. It had two owners before me. First had it for most of the vehicle's life, second had it less than a year. Hopefully they took care of it.

He also called the Raptor a thing! Was in conversation with a friend of my father in-laws after he came over there house. He saw my truck on the driveway and said wow that’s crazy. He also said I was at the dealership and saw these Raptors on the lot and said who would be the person to buy these “Things” lol. Yup it would be me.

Obviously this convo happened a while back as it’s harder to find Raptors on dealer lots, at least in this area.
I almost never see them on a lot where I'm at. I see them from time to time on the road, but still somewhat rare.

Welcome to the family from College Station, TX. Beautiful truck... but I may be biased!
You've got a ruby red one too! :D (looking at your profile pic). I love the color - strange when I do see a Raptor, it's almost never red. I've only seen two other ruby red ones in person.

I was on vacation in Florida when I saw a Raptor for the first time (around the time they first came out) - it was a black Gen1. My eyes were glued to it, lol. It's awesome how regardless of what generation a Raptor is, they're always an eye catcher :D

If Ford ever discontinued the Raptor, I'll probably be depressed enough to binge eat fried chicken and Alfredo till I gained 10 pounds, lol. But, I'd probably just solve the problem by never getting rid of the one I had.

Same! I try to keep mine clean, but it's hard. My old Taurus was tan and I loved that it never looked dirty because it was the color of dirt, lol.

Welcome! You went from a horse and buggy to a Raptor :p. Sit back and be prepared to waste a good 5-10 hours just “coming up to speed” and another 20+ hours to learn about tihS you never cared about but you read it anyway. I have been a grease monkey since I was 17 when I got bit by the HP bug and rebuild my first transmission. I am known by my friend as a closet redneck:p
