No. The numbers are not an opinion, it’s a loss of 20HP and 35 lb-ft.


RMB Motorworks would probably disagree with that statement. And there is already a massive aftermarket for EcoBoost engines, far more than the 7.3 at this point. Regardless, the guy who did the swap did not install a supercharger, nor did I see it mentioned.


Plenty of people have done EcoBoost swaps, we have a forum member on here who installed one in an old F-100. The execution was impeccable.


3.5 is 417lbs. 7.3 is 580lbs. So the difference in the engine alone is 163lbs over the nose. The guy used the 10R140 transmission and transfer case from a Super Duty, which accounts for the rest of that weight. That’s completely overkill, but it looks like he got the powertrain as a complete take-out and didn’t have a 10R80 with the correct bolt pattern available to use instead.
