I've been eyeing the Go Pro 2 since it was released but happened to get a Go Pro 1 for an X-Mas present this year. Does anyone have any input that would push me into getting the 2 or should I stick with the O.G. Go Pro?

I have both get the 2. The 1 will work fine, but the 2 is better.

Better video
Holds more
Batt pack
More recording modes
Can film in 3d . . Have to buy another cam tho.

Newer is always better, for most things.

However, that doesn't mean the old is junk! Personally, I'd just stick with the 1 if it was a gift. Pretty sweet gift imo.

I bought a contour GPS a few weeks ago, is it better than the older contours? Yup. Would I use an older one if it was given to me? Uh huh!

I currently have 2 of the Gopro Hero HD's and just got the new GoPro Hero 2 for xmas.

I would say get the Gopro2. They are coming out with a smart phone app that lets you control up to 50 cameras and view their video feed from your phone or ipad. Plus it films in higher quality and has multiple recording indicator lights and a better menu screen.

SVTCALI,

Do you know anything more about the iPad app?

All I know right now is from the GoPro Site.

GoPro Wi-Fi BacPac & Remote

Wi-Fi-enable your HD HERO2 or original HD HERO camera with the Wi-Fi BacPac™ and Wi-Fi Remote.

The Wi-Fi BacPac attaches to your HD HERO2 camera to enable long range video remote control via the Wi-Fi Remote or a smartphone, tablet, or computer running a free GoPro App. Waterproof and durable, the Wi-Fi Remote enables complete control of up to 50 HD HERO2 cameras at a time.

When paired with the Wi-Fi BacPac, the HD HERO2 also supports live video streaming and remote control via smart-devices, computers and the Web wherever Wi-Fi or a mobile hotspot is present. Record one video stream to your HD HERO2′s SD card while sending a second video stream via Wi-Fi to your smart-device, computer or the Web.

The original HD HERO is also compatible with the Wi-Fi BacPac and Wi-Fi Remote with support for remote control functions only. Video streaming is not available on the original HD HERO camera.

Yup, Go Pro 1 is definitely getting swapped for the 2. The streaming is one cool feature!
