Genuine life expectancy for the Gen1?

I'd say a 1-3...really depends on how hard you are on it and if you maintain it correctly...My 2014 is Supercharged,so might be the exception...but with 62K on it so far only had to fix an injection wire a damn mouse chewed thru,surly not the Raptors fault..LOL...and last month,Rear Diff. was getting rather loud so had my Mechanic look at it since I was changing the cover anyway and the Pinion was going out...so had it rebuilt.....so my baby is good as new,and looks it too....Like others I feel its going to be a classic...just have to live long enough...but I have owned my '63 Corvette for 47 years,so who knows....:rolleyes:


I only put 5k miles on my 2014 Ruby SCREW, but it too has a Roush in it. I’m praying it’ll make it into the 200k range like the older 5.4’s. She’s only got 30k total on the clock, so it’ll be a few years before I get there. Lol

The Gen 1 Raptors will probably last 3-4x longer than the Gen 2. They are built much simpler and honestly, more heavy duty. Take care of it, do all the maintenance work and replace parts as needed, don't let repairs add up! And i see no reason it wont go 500k. The gen 2? Oh man. MAYBE 120k and then it needs more repairs then its worth at that point. 10 speed, turbos, electronic suspension, etc. Not good for long term! Gen 1 is a trooper.

Plenty of performance mods with quality tested parts.
Garage parked.

Truck is just getting broken in...

Like anything - it depends upon preventative maintenance, replace or rebuild parts as necessary and how you utilize it. Everything in the drivetrain is a consumable.
As for wiring and electronics, Depends upon the environment they are exposed to.

BAINAZ is Correct! Dito on that! Maintain it, Preventively as Best as your mechanical ability/skill set can do.. Big Saving's on repairs and cost, especially if you can do the work yourself. If you cannot, then Still do Preventative with a good small shop that knows the Ford F-150's and if Rap's too that's a Plus. Find other Rap Owners too near you, since many will help and many have some occasional one time use tools you will need. Doesnt that Supercharger give you a shit eating grin every time you hit the gas....I got the Whipple that Shelby installed,ans been grinning for over a year now....Mine was totally done at Shelby factory when new,and hoping since it was professionally installed and not a backyard install,it will last...and original owner only used for going to his office and was SUPER **** about upkeep.when it was delivered (I never drove it,thats how much I trusted him)..I thought they were unloading a brand new Raptor...even had just installed new tires..!!

Oh,forgot to mention above...I did also have the belt changed....mechanic said its good for 100K,but WTF...its cheap insurance,so had him replace when he fixed the Injection wire....I guess if all goes well,wont have to worry much until I decide to change the Plugs...maybe at 80K....got to work up the nerve to do it...have read how a couple are a real pain..LOL
Good luck with yours...dont see any reason why it wont make 200K...hell when I had my business I had a crappy 4 cyl. Dodge Caravan and it lasted for 323,000....1 month shy of 20 years.>!!! 1 head gasket,and normal replacement parts.....but I was **** with maintance (like I am with the Raptor)...if it didnt run,I didnt get paid!:eek:

Rust or collisions will be the only thing that sends a Gen 1 Raptor to the junkyard. Most of the drivetrain will be dirt cheap to fix for decades to come since it's all stock F150/F250 stuff, but the widened rear axle is going to be hard to find.

My 2014 just surpassed 70k miles, 6 years of ownership and I'm planning on keeping it for least as long. I've done nothing but regular maintenance, 60k service and some minor mods. I don't baby it per se, as it has a few scratches that have been earned on the trail. I also live just a few miles from work so I've been biking into work which helps keep the short trips off the truck.

The one thing I think I go above and beyond with is that I somewhat regularly apply fluid film to the bottom side of the truck to keep the rust from forming.
