I really want to get one for my next year trip to yosemite; had an encounter with a bear here in jersey last year on a camping trip and any type of distance or time to react to the bear will help.

Oooooooooooo!

It's not something I'd personally want to drive around with all the time, but if you're O.K. with it, the Habitats are nice.

Thats an interesting set up. I think that would be a lot of weight!

The Manufacture recommends that the tent be unoccupied when jumping.

Update: I texted with socalraptor and he says he didn't modify the suspension at all for his tent and Lietner rack and the truck "handles like a dream" and you "don't feel the tent or rack at all" and there is "no loss of power". Thats great news coming from someone who actually has the set up and uses it off road. He was very helpful.

as your setup comes together I'd love to be able to take a look as I'm looking to something similar.
I'm just over the hill from Santa Cruz but I'm over there a couple days a week as I help run a mountain bike advocacy group based out of Santa Cruz.

Will Do! I need to get it first though, it won't be done until the first quarter of 2018 :party36:

You must ride in the mountains by me a lot, Henry Cowell Park. I live in Ben Lomond. I've hiked there a bunch but I stopped mountain biking when I moved from Arizona.

I think it is? I haven't talked to them yet. I've seen pictures of one made by RCI for Ford and also I think companies like C4fabrication and CBIoffroad would make whatever you designed for them.

Here is RCI's rack and a design from a member here (I don't remember who and i can't find the thread) Of course there is the Frontrunner rack, which is lower than both of these. It mounts to the bed rails and is easy to remove. I have a friend who has that. I like that one a lot, only drawback is you can't stand your spare tire up in the bed.

That RCI one looks good and i like how it just attaches to the oem bedrails, it should allow for the use of a bed cover like the retrax pro mx. Too bad it isnt higher, its also too low for an awning attachment.

I saw a video on the instagram page of the guy with the Leitner rack. It looks like it has attachment points inside the bed as well so that may prevent use of a bed cover.

Maybe custom is the way to go.
