So I have been having the worse of luck finding a replacement frame for my gen 1 raptor. Now my two choices are A- spend 4 grand on a front frame assembly new or B- find a replacement alternate frame . Now I know it’s been posted a million times about frame differences between a stock f150 and raptor frame, but I have not been able to just get one single confident response since it’s either it is or it isn’t the same. What is the correct answer? Can you not use an FX4 or Lariat for a Front Frame replacement on a Gen 1 raptor ?

Have you tried visiting a collision repair shop? Maybe hat in hand and a box of donuts or bag of breakfast burritos.. if you end up at a shop that sees enough volume, they may have done some major raptor frame repair or swaps in the past and can give you some info. Or somebody there may be able to look at a parts diagram with you for a few minutes to dig deeper.

Detailed frame specs like that might be beyond the majority of us more recreational, bolt on, slight fabrication forum followers.

My uneducated guess would be that they are the same, with additional reinforcement added certain areas. You would be up ***** creek though to get that far into a project and find out there is a significant enough difference that you can’t move forward.

Also, if your swapping the frame into a 6.2 Raptor, obviously some time would have to be spent researching drivetrain mounting differences unless you are able to find a non Raptor 6.2 frame.

Good luck on your quest.

Took it to three frame shops and they wouldn’t repair it. One of them tried but wasn’t able to repair the damage therefore being at the point where I am at . It’s hard to find front sections for a gen 1 raptor , so I’m running out of options :(

Don't quote me, but the early gen 1 frames should be the same as a regular f150, the later 2013-14 frames were beefed up in the rear section for the Raptors. I would phone and talk to some of the Raptor shops that have been around for awhile, like "Forged offroad" "ADD" "RPG". They are privy to the frames and their workings.

@CoronaRaptor this is one of the responses that I saw in a couple of post as well ‍. Just don’t want to spend the money and it not going together . From other post after reading they said everything should just bolt on.

If it was me, I would verify with one of those companies I mentioned and get 'er done. I don't know where in Texas you are, but there are some Raptor guru's around there, this shouldn't be as big a problem as you've described. Make the phone calls ! If you have a scab, that will be harder to find a whole frame, but a screw would be easier. Good luck.

Check ebay seller with item 234057857712. Ask if he got the frame for sale
The other thing most won't sell a used frame because liability.
Check with ebay salvage auto ricyler.

Even more than what @CoronaRaptor said, I'm *mostly* confident the gen 1 frame is the same as the standard F-150 except it was widened in the rear to accommodate the 35" spare. I don't believe it was even beefed up. Maybe @FordTechOne can confirm 100%?

I've been looking at picking up a salvage truck to use as parts for my current truck and as a fabrication model so I don't have to use my current truck. Last I looked, you could find one for $15k to $20k. It is a lot of work, but you go that route and then part out the rest. If you do go this route, I'd buy pretty much all the wiring harnesses plus a few other odds and ends I'm sure.
