well shit... just typed up a whole intro, about my truck, my future Raptor, and why I want to "trade up" to a Ford... haha.. but apparently I was logged out, then when I logged back in, it was all gone... !@#$%

Well, real quick, I've got an 09 Tacoma 4 door 4x4, love it, but even with the thousands of $$ I've spent on it, and countless hours installing parts... I'm still not happy with it. Driveline vibes, loose steering and suspension feel, lack of certain amenities, etc... I drove the Raptor and was really happy with the feel of the truck. There are plenty of things I didn't like about it, color options weren't great. Not a whole lot of storage in the truck (at least the Supercab), and few other things. But wow, that steering feel alone, in a truck like that...

I've been contemplating swapping out the Icon stage 4 set up I've got now for an All Pro long travel set up, and chasing after the drive line vibration issues, but I don't think I'll be happy with it even after all that. I'm hoping that with the Raptor, I'd be set from the get go... maybe the Icon stage 2 set up later, but eh...

For the guys with 1-3 year old trucks... do they still feel tight and sharp? Or have they lost that feeling and are getting sloppy a bit?

Thanks for reading!

Forgot to add... I'm looking at getting a '13 in Terrain, a Supercab. Love that look... Sure wish they came out with an EcoBoost option though... MIGHT wait till '14 for the option if they do it...

After comparing my 400hp X-Runner to my 411hp StormTrooper, there is no comparison. Worth every penny and then some. Do it. Now.

:welcome: I say get the Raptor, but it kind of sounds like you are the never happy type. "love my Tacoma but..." "Love the scab but..." All in all good luck to you and I hope you end up as happy with it as the rest of us. I finally got to see a terrain in person last weekend and its a really awesome color.

Got any pix of the Tacoma? Sounds like a sweet set up.

I just got a used 2011 screw and it is very "tight" in regards to steering. The truck as a whole feels very nimble for such a large truck. It should be even more so with an scab. I, like you came from a modified truck. I had an 05 F150 with 6" lift, 4.88's, on 37's. The difference between the trucks is night and day. The 05 felt "loose" as you describe and like a lumbering beast compared to the Raptor.

was in the a tacoma prior to this, loved that truck! but the looks you get, the y it rides, drives, feels is incredible. Be careful not to catch the mod bug its a long and expensive disease lol but worth every damn penny. steering gets even better i hear when you add an aftermarket tire rod.
