Yes, the adaptive tables get reset during programming.
Rattle is back with a vengeance, shifting got worse it really seemed to act like it doesn’t know if it should be in 4th or 5th. Dealership is ordering parts to do the phasers and chain again.

Mine goes in Tuesday for the TSB and we'll go from there. Most dealership here are saying 4-6 weeks before they can get to it for the cam phaser work.

Yes the dealer who did mine said if it has transmission issues after the upgrade then they need to revert back to the previous update.

Your dealer(s) likely didn’t flash the latest version. The first update did cause shifting issues and was replaced with an updated update. You can post up the work order to confirm which version it was. @FordTechOne will keep you straight on the real info, no fakes.

Right I didn't ask what update it was, they said it was the update to the update which you stated but I am not sure what version it was.

I read the mega thread on this and the cam phaser problem is a clack clack sound like a roller coaster. You can for sure tell what it is when you hear it. The light metallic sound is waste gate, etc.

The software update is a preventative measure. It won't fix a phaser locking pin that is already worn. Hence the reason for the 21N03 program. Anytime the powertrain calibration is reset the transmission adaptive tables are as well; it needs to relearn the vehicle's operating characteristics.

Don't the cam phase issue usually kick codes to go along with them?
No. It's only a noise on cold start; as soon as the phasers receive oil pressure (2-5 seconds) they operate normally.

I have heard two different rattles on videos one a waste gate and the other deeper one is I am guessing cam phasers.

FTO- shifting has become progressively worse since the update. Where can I get the full documentation on the service bulletin? I've only seen it on a YouTube video. I recall watching they should reverse the update if there is a shifting issue. Thanks
