Front Camera

Well the mechanic just called and told me that they DID NOT have to replace the front grill. I was told that the grill cost was 1500.00 so the cost is coming down. I hopefully will be able to pick it up this afternoon... Cant wait

try and get a price for what just the camera itself part cost. I'm assuming the camera and wiring harness setup is only 1000 then. Usually the main engine bay harnesses are PRICEY!

I wouldn't mind picking up a spare camera itself if they're relatively cheap just to keep on hand incase it ever was so lucky to BULLSEYE with a rock to the lense lol.

Are they hooking up the washer squirter setup too? The turn signal stalk actually has a second twist knob just for cleaning the lense, separate from the windshield squirters. I've used it a couple times and it works great. I wish the rear camera had a squirter too.

this is the plug that plugs into my front camera ,, I cant see ford paying to make two wire harnesses just for the camera but ya never know

the camera wires come out of the harness that has the running light wires in it also .. so if you have the above color wires going into this plug maybe they are plug and play

Yes, the grills are all the same 2010-2012. Please try to get a break down on the parts/part numbers/$ needed to add the frnt cam. thanks, thejoker

Yes they can add it from your dealer. I just dropped mine off at the dealer today for it to be added. They had to order a new wiring harness for the entire engine and a new grill for the camera placement, etc. Total cost for me is 2500.00 and it should be ready by tomorrow so I will post the pics then. Why my truck is a 2012 and they had to replace the grill and the engine wiring harness is beyond me but I am not a mechanic either...

Holy jesus man, you seriously paid $2500 for the camera ? wow.

Man I'm hoping this ends up being plug and play. My dealer had a misunderstanding and thought the front camera was part of the package with the rear. I didn't pick up on it until I got my window sticker earlier this week. Truck is scheduled to be built next week and he put in the request to get it changed. "Pending plant approval" at this point so I've got my fingers crossed but looking for a backup plan in case it doesn't happen.

The front camera part number is CL3Z 19G490 A and retail price is $391.12

I don't believe how dealers can just misinterpret and not realize the front camera doesn't come with the rear or nav automatically. It's a dedicated option on the build sheet for front & rear cameras.

Can you post pics of the washer unit? I think im going to get an Aftermarket camera on my 2010 and see if I can set up the washer some how.
