Great! Maybe someone could ride with me in the beginning to show me a few pointers and a safe entry speed to the jump so i do not cause any harm or atleast hope not to the truck and ride with one of you to truly see what a good offroad set up can do! thanks for all the input and support Look forward to meeting you all and having a good time!

Safe Entry Speed = Somewhere between Yippeeeee and Oh Shit.

Im gonna tell you now, if you ride in a modded truck, your wallet will be upset, lol

When i was a young kid watching my dad race i was walking by some guy trying to explain to another person he just wasnt fast enough to win races, he was getting passed in the brake zones and accelerating out of corners... the other guy said, "throw more money at it". Wont ever forget that lol.

it know cant be any different than a street car on a road race track than a fully built race car... just want to or try to reassure myself that if i get a little air i wont bend my frame thats all. Try my best to find the right speed for the stock set up that it doesnt land so hard, and mess anything up..

Don't stress out on bending your frame from jumping. Typically the bent frame thing happens the most under harsh g-outs and abrupt bump travel impacts do to limited bump travel when at ride height. When you jump the truck, the shock is extending to full droop. This will allow the shock to have the most damping control through the entire stroke all the way to full bump when you land. Sure if you go high enough and have a ton of weight in the bed, you can mushroom the frame, but honestly I wouldn't let it affect your good time. I can tell you from personal experience with bending my own frame, I jumped the hell out of the truck with no issues, but I can pin point the exact hit that I took in a wash G-out that bent the shit out of it. Granted this was long before anyone even offered a bump kit, but non the less, it wasn't a jump that did it.

If you do want a real good piece of mind and performance advantage we will be out there for the whole weekend and will have our Gen 2 adjustable bump kits with us, and will be offering special pricing for those in attendance. If you need us to put it on, we can do that as well. Also, if you want us to adjust you to mid perch while we are there, that's not a problem either. We would be happy to do it and should be able to have ya done in an hour.

Considering your coming from a road course background I think you will be in good shape. You already should have a good understanding of car control, braking zones, line choice etc... Treat the event like your first track day. Use for first few sessions to learn the course and how your car is behaving. As you get faster, look for lines that will help you gain speed, and save your equipment in sections that don't gain all that much time. Ultimately it's about being at the event, learning about the truck and what it can and can't do.

I'm sure you have seen it a thousand times at the road courses. A guy will a fully built Z06 or 911Gt3 on full track tires and the whole nine yards is fast as can be in the straights, but pathetic in the corners. Then you will see some kid in a 350 awhp Subi bitch slap them on the track because they are light years faster going into and out of the corners. Same things apply to the Raptors. You can have all the mods in the world, if you don't know how to use them, your stock Raptor with a capable driver will hang and in most cases pass them all day long.

I look forward to getting the chance to meet you out there and talking shop with ya.

I will be running a completely stock truck even on low perch. I read bluesvt sticky on "how to offroad in your raptor" as this is my first true off road adventure, he mentions how the frame of other owners has been fatigued on previous adventures. I know the risks involved and the stories but are the jumps set up on this course potentially dangerous enough or big enough to cause damage to the frame on factory bumps.. thanks for any input. I will be signing up by end of week next week. Can not wait!

Check out @BigBlue's off-road thread as well. But keep in mind that the havoc location is changed for this year.

Dunnjames me and dfass16 build the track so we can assure you that it is setup for all raptors and all skill levels. Problems happen when you push trucks and abilities I have seen people with modified trucks do stupid things and break stuff and stock trucks run right past them. But I can assure you that this track is setup for whatever you have it's all about how fast you want to go over it and there are areas that you can opt to go around if you don't feel confident to jump off a big jump you can go around it we have to drive these things home we don't want to destroy them but if you do we have a scrap yard out front we will buy your truck from you for $.05 per pound hahaha jk lol only ******* with you but if you do I will hehehe. But seriously you will have a great time with great people at a great place with great food and a lot of other great things so please come for the event and I guarantee you will love it and iron man is a great tour guide he drives so slow you get to see everything and will meet everyone because they will all be passing by. Jk ironman but seriously again just sign up you will love it

@dunnjames18 I attended the Rise of the Phoenix event last fall, and I also have been down there to hang with @Scrap man for a day. I have a stock truck on mid perch and I had no issues, jumping and all. Entering and exiting corners are key. Gotta hit the brake to get the back end moving then work the wheel and throttle to slide around. After I took a ride in @Scrap man's truck, I realized I have a long way to go with the conering. I won't be able to make it to HAVOC as I'll be on vacation. HAve fun, great group of people at these events, as well in the Raptor community.
