I believe colder air is more dense. If the intercooler is able to cool the air more than stock, it will be more dense, so there will be more air in the same volume, so more boom.

EDIT: If that sounds like I was being a ****, I didn't mean it that way at all. Just that if the IC can cool the air temps lower than the stock can, you would have improved 0 to 60. It seems like the IC would depend on conditions though; for example, if it were 100 outside an IC might make much more impact than if it were 30.

Hmmm interesting, that Aviator hybrid is slick & the interior on the black label is the nicest I’ve seen in a mass produced vehicle, period.

Yea, they are sweet. The only thing holding me back is the depreciation. First year depreciation is about $20K. I would wager that in 2-3 years it would be worth less than $50k. You know how many miles I could drive on my Gen 2 before I lose $40k? A LOT!!! With that said, the TRX will probably still depreciate worse than the Aviator LOL.

The FMIC behind the grille (moved from the stock location) creates about 20 more WHP and 20 more WTQ when compared to an upgraded IC in the stock location according to Goose Tuned. But you are right, it helps with better cooling, which translates to more consistent numbers.

How did you get to this conclusion? Raptors historically have always had really good resale value...

Historically...that's the key word. The reason being that there hasn't been a direct competitor. That has changed, especially so because there aren't many out there that will want an eco boost over a hellcat engine. Once Ford steps up to compete with another V8 soon, resale is going to absolutely tank.

I guess I’m disappointed that the TRX isn’t a stronger competitor. Yes, they have more HP but I can’t remember the last time I wanted more. On the street, I just spin my tires (and I don’t want to wear them out too quick), in the dirt, I seem to have plenty of power. The only place that I could conceivably want more is in the dunes, but I don’t plan on going there in my new Raptor.

An open front diff is a huge downside as well as smaller electric 2.5” shocks on a truck that weighs so much more. More weight => bigger shocks, not smaller. If you just compare the area (2.5” vs 3”), the Raptor’s are approximately 44% bigger! Being electric will make it hard to upgrade until the aftermarket catches up.

I want dodge to be pushing Ford to improve, but the current TRX seems like it was done on a budget to satisfy those who can only understand HP rather than a from the ground up design. As someone else pointed out, it seems to compete with the F150 Shelby more than the Raptor.

Of course, given the Raptor’s weight advantage, it won’t take much additional power to keep up.

Aren't the Raptor shocks 2.5" in a 3" body due to the internal bypass ?

If most were honest, they've never been truly satisfied with the eco **** engine. Now, with the TRX and the next Raptor both having blown V8's, your appetite can be satiated.
