I am fast approaching 36k miles on my 2017 and thinking about picking up a zero deductible Premium care for 6 years/100k. I am reading the exclusions on Flood Ford's website and the following concern me:

".....repairs caused by loss of lubricants or fluids or contamination of oil, fluids or fuel.."

I tow a LOT - almost a third of my 33k miles are towing miles and one of the reasons I would like an extended warranty is for the tranny. If tranny blows while towing due to a leak, the above clause seems to indicate it will not be covered?

"....repairs or services caused by lack of required or recommended maintenance..."

I do my own oil changes and (knock on wood), I have not had to do anything to this truck other than oil changes. Haven't gone back to dealer since the day I rolled it off their showroom floor 33k miles ago. So, it seems they can ding my coverage just for that?

"....any repair caused by aftermarket PCM reprogramming..."

I have a few settings tweaked with Forscan, so that would certainly make me fail the warranty?

Have folks had any warranty claims on the Ford extended warranty plans? Can you please post up your experiences on whether it was a hassle? What failed and what was your repair experience?

Sites been down all day. Just came up less than 30 minutes ago. Someone will help answer your question once they realize the site is back up.

You are allowed to service your Raptor anywhere you want. Ford can't deny you warranty service because you performed your service at a non-Ford dealer. That said what the dealer will try to do is claim the service was not done correctly, wrong parts blah blah blah and it will be up to you prove them wrong and that will not be easy.

Warranty claims with a Raptor that has been modified really come down to the dealer. If the dealer wants to do the work they will make it happen. If the dealer doesn't want to do the work, they will make it difficult to get warranty service.

I've had very good luck with my dealer who knows my Raptor is far from stock so my warranty that's good until 136k was worth it.

I don't run any type of tune and I won't. If you have a engine/trans failure Ford will look at the ECU and see its modified, that will be reason enough to deny your warranty. If you flash the ECU back to factory before going in Ford will assume you ran a tune and deny your warranty as well.

We have seen warranty claims be denied several times here at FRF and it happened just recently to a friend who was running a tune, had a engine failure and was denied warranty by Ford even though the dealer was very Raptor friendly and pushing for warranty service. Ford found he had a tune and would not honor the the engine replacement.

I agree with @Trick_Raptor , you're warranty coverage will depend on your dealer. I also was very lucky with my dealer and I used the hell out of my ESP warranty till it ran out.

I would get the coverage, especially if you tow a lot.

As for doing your own maintenance, do you keep records of what you do? You could also keep the receipt of the oil and filter you buy. Not ideal, but may be worth it if you're concerned. Also, have you ever sent oil off for an oil analysis? That would be another record of your maintenance.

I wanted to have my dealer forscan the mirrors and auto start-stop and was told they couldn't because even those show up and could void the warranty.

Called Flood Ford today to ask about the ESP. Totally unimpressed by the service, if you can call it that. "Go to website, read the exclusions" was about what the gentleman said, and couldn't wait to get off the phone.

Jerk move but then again, it's better to read the actual terms vs. listening to a salesperson tell you all kinds of stories to get a sale.

OK, I pulled the trigger today and went with premium care 6/100. In case anyone comes upon this thread in future, I went with Zeigler Ford. I called them and they beat Flood Ford's price and were much nicer and friendlier. Name of the person I spoke with at Flood was "Gardiner" and he certainly did not earn my business - was a total jerk.
