Got more or less a couple questions and do not know if it only pertains to the WSI HD springs or all others.

I thought with the stock leafs, the plate/bolts were parallel to the ground but to be honest, I am not 100% positive. After my WSI install I notice that they are at an angle. Using my iPhone level app I found that the driver side is at a 22 degrees and the passenger at 18 degrees. Is this how it is supposed to be?

Hope the pictures help.

Other question is the vacuum hose has clips that were both hanging free on each side. It seems they clip onto the rear bolts, it that right?

Doesn't look right. The u bolts dont appear to be tightened down evenly. Notice the rear has several more threads showing then the front of the bolt. Looks like the rear was sucked down then the front was tighened causing the bolts to pull to the rear. They need to be loosened, adjusted, and tighened down evenly.

You want to try and get the threads (showing) of the U Bolts as equal as possible. Now, you wont be able to get it perfect, but it should be closer than what you are displaying. The U bolts are of equal length to start and the leaf pack should be the same thickness at the axle pad. So.... you should be able to get the shown threads almost equal. A quarter inch front or back isn't going to hurt anything. You just want to make sure you have an equal torque on each bolt using a criss-cross pattern. You also want to ensure your driveline angle is correct. I had to use a 2.5 degree shim to get rid of driveline vibration. When I had my truck aligned last week the thrust angle was .03. Damn near perfect as far as I am concerned.

Good luck on your rear end.

I am headed to Michigan next week for GLRE Time Attack, will be on sand dunes, trails and dirt race track and jumping plus 2,000 miles of highway over the next 2 weeks. Should I be concerned???

Jimmy at WSI installed it and he is 3 hrs away from me. If I really should be concerned then I would rather pay someone to do it now before my trip.

Me neither. When you place stress on the bolts, significantly more stress is going to fall on the side that is higher up, than the one that is lower. If you take a gnarly jump and put a lot of force on that joint, things have a better chance of getting ugly.

The U-bolts should be taking the stress of the load as close to even as humanly possible.

Thanks guys. This kinda sucks and a little pissed since I paid already for the install but cannot afford downtime and possible major damage that clearly would not be covered under warranty. See if I can get someone to fix this locally before I leave next week.
