My Gen 1 Scab with 74,*** has been acting up suddenly. Driving the other day and truck hesitated between 2-3 and then downshifted suddenly. Gave it some gas and it seemed to return back to normal.
It has done this several times since.
Then yesterday driving home and stopped at a light the truck just shut off and died. Put into park and started up and low oil pressure came on and off again. Drive to next light and same thing happened, truck just shut off, no oil light that time. Drove home and let truck idle in driveway in Park and no issues.
My oil level is good.Royal Purple
My Battery is good. Optima red top
All my running temps are good.
Run 91 octane.
I have run a pedal commander for last year and half with great results.- I believe this might be a culprit, but want to see want you all think.
Rarely do I drive more than 30 miles a day when I drive the truck.
I am anti dealership, so I’m all ears on this one.
Thanks

oddly enough mine shut off with low oil pressure on the screen the other week.....started right up again, no shifting like you have. I am running 5 star tunes, I am leaning twards that as the main suspect but I dunno

If the engine stalls, the low oil pressure light will come on. It's part of the Instrument Cluster prove-out strategy that occurs Key On Engine Off (KOEO).

Uninstall the pedal commander and re-evaluate. They have been know to cause issues such as this, as they're aftermarket electronics and often cause issues with the OEM calibrations.
