About to replace my spark plugs and I've read that the recommended gap is 0.041-0.047", but I'm having a hard time finding any feeler gauges, flat or wire. Flats go up to 0.040", and the closest wire gauge I can find have a 0.040" and 0.045". I assume the 0.045" wire gauge is the one used.

So what brand and source (where purchased) have you used?

Have an old set of Craftsman flats. Just put two together that adds up to .041-.047

Been such a long time since I've gapped plugs (now with OEM plugs lasting tens of thousands of miles) that I plain forgot the simple stacking of flat feeler gauges.

Thanks for the reminder!
