I dropped my raptor off at the dealership and they are doing a tire rotation and oil change. I am having them move two tires around since I tore up the two rears at TRR.

The dealership doesn't see too many raptors and at first told me that they were not going to be responsible for the after market bead locks. I informed them that they are factory. Service manager confirmed it of course.

They have to take the beauty ring off and I told them to make sure and torque it down to 47.9lb-ft when they put them back on. They said there is no way its that high and I must mean 47.9lb-in. I didn't have anything with me so told them to just look it up and do what you find.

Back home, I find this:
https://www.fordracingparts.com/download/instructionsheets/FordInstShtM-1007-DC1785.pdf

It does show 47.9lb-ft but that is for the true bead lock and they are different bolts. Does the beauty ring bolts (that are different) still torque as the same as the true bead lock bolts?

Was wanting to call them back to let them know.....

I am having them change the wheels and I am moving one ring to the spare tire since it is scratched up.

Aah Makes sense. I have noticed over time and offloading with my spare that the beauty ring best scratched while in place under the truck.

The beauty ring is facing up when it's under the truck so not sure how it would get scratched up at all. But this isn't what I was posting about....

I am really wanting to know the torque specs. Is it the bolt or the bolt hole that determines the torque specs?

If it's the hole then it wouldn't matter if its the beauty bolt or the true bead lock bolt but wanted to confirm before I call them back.

I can appreciate the level of attention to detail. Some call it OCD, I just call it detail oriented.

I'm guessing super exact torque isn't going to matter since they are just basically trim pieces.

and they are with a torx. that much torque would almost spin the torx driver. The Real beadlocks are true bolts making that much torque a little more believable.

It would be the bolt mainly. I think. Since it is just a trim piece it should not be crucial.

So what's the torque spec for the "torx" bolt then?
I definitely do NOT want them to strip it.
