It's... Dumas

Believe it. Have you figured out why people ask questions yet?

Sorry, thought I answered it.

People ask stupid questions because they are dumb asses.

But considering that you are a jabroni, I shouldnt be surprised that you asked.

So... People who ask questions are dumb asses?

If you were half as smart as you think you are, you'd have avoided going full retard like you just did.

My philosophy is also never to buy warranties on small items, like from Harbor Freight. On appliances, I have starting adding them since they are all electronic now and the replacement boards are expensive after a power surge. I have surge protectors on everything now.

As far as cars/trucks, I owned a Ford Explorer and got the extended warranty, and after 270,000 miles I never had a problem where I needed to use it. On my wife's Honda however, I got the warranty and used it when she spilled an entire cup of Starbucks coffee into the monitor, and it was covered. On my Honda Civic Hybrid (no laughing), I got the warranty, and the monitor also went out on it. Those things are expensive.

As for my Raptor, I balked at the ridiculous price they were charging at the dealership and did not get it. But this site was tremendously helpful in finding a great price, so I bought it after a few weeks. I now have almost 60K miles and just used it when the passenger window motor died. The rental car was also free when they needed to keep it for the day. I also got the headlight option because of how foggy they get after a few years. As cheap insurance, I also got a protective film on them as well.

As others have said, for such an expensive vehicle, with very expensive replacement parts, it was a no brainer. Also far better to get the Ford plan as others are a pain in the ass.

My extended warranty came in handy when the sunroof and rear window decided to die on the same day. Too many electronics in these trucks to take a chance on.

Reading this thread has me feeling like a smuck. I initially declined the extended warranty and had no intention of getting it. Then the dealer reduced the price and I took it. What flashed through my mind at that moment was new transmission, new engine, electronics, etc. This truck has many more bells and whistles than I've ever had on a vehicle.
I have a MasterTech policy from the dealer for 6 yrs or 100,000 miles. I have the Ultra coverage which is the best their standard contract form shows. But it still has a lengthy list of exclusions that does include light bulbs, sealed beams, exhaust, brakes pads and rotors, clutch (never mind), hinges, and others you'd expect like tires, glass, paint, battery, etc.
The price was $2622, and now I realize what a ******** I was to make a snap decision without researching.
I just read the contract terms and I can still cancel for a prorata refund and $50. I've had the truck almost 4 months.
Reading further, it includes rental reimbursement, towing, roadside assistance, emergency travel expenses. All drive train is listed as covered and the suspension as well.
Should I cancel and look for coverage elsewhere?

I just checked the online pricing at Flood Ford and similar coverage to what I have (Premium, $50 deductible, 100k, 6 yrs) would cost me $1300. Seems like a no brainer if I think I want coverage. Am I missing something here? My dealer charged me twice that amount.

Im assuming this MasterTech policy is dealer specific. What I don't like about that is if you are unhappy with the service you receive there, that you can't go anywhere else without paying out of pocket. The ESP plan is honored at any Ford dealer in US, Canada, and Mexico. I would personally add light bulb coverage to the ESP plan and if you really risk adverse, you can add the rental reimbursement for $60 a day starting on day 2 of service for up to 10 days. You should still be ahead even after adding all of the additional items.
