Engine Immobilizer

Does anybody understand how the engine immobilizer works? I looked in the manual however this is all it says about it “You can program your own integrated keyhead transmitters or standard SecuriLock coded keys to your vehicle. This procedure will program both the engine immobilizer key code and the remote entry portion of the remote control to your vehicle.”

Yeah, the sales rep could not explain it either when I bought mine. I thought it was perhaps the type used by LEO's to disable the vehicle...

its for the security system. if the vehicle doesnt recognize the ket, it wont start.
