.I've had mine about 15 months and live NC Minn. I keep mine in an unheated garage and have started it down to around -10F without using the block heater. No problems. If its cold out, I'll let it idle for about 1/2 a minute and then proceed....fairly gently for the first 2-3 miles. It warms up pretty quickly.If you plug in the block heater, 2-3 hours should suffice. I would be more concerned with keeping the battery fully charged. When not used, mine stays plugged in on a 2 amp tender/charger. Good luck....
