You are right on the money! It was throwing code PO713, transmission fluid temperature open circuit. Because I also performed the leaking tranny bulkhead repair, I had to unplug the tranny electrical connector (see TSB 11-3-25). Upon closer inspection of the end of tranny electrical connector, somehow 1 of the 16 female receptacles was pushed in. Therefore, the corresponding male pin on the tranny was not making contact with it, throwing the code. That disconnected pin is responsible for monitoring trans fluid temp, so the truck thought the fluid was overheated, thus kicking on the fans as well. Was able to reseat the female end, plugged it back in and no code, fans didn’t kick on, very happy to report all is well.
