Anyone else noticed that the door handles and cups are fading or whiting out on their trucks? I have noticed that all four are doing it. Would this be something that is covered under warranty I wonder?

According to the warranty and policy manual, 'damage due to exposure to the elements is not covered under the new vehicle bumper to bumper warranty'.

Maybe time to paint them? Or buy new ones. If I remember right the handle is not that expensive as it is the same handle used since the 2004 model year.

Not the best to paint because they are textured. I ended up getting a whole set from a raptor when new since the guy painted all his and replaced them with PTM ones. He gave them to me so I am covered when they start to fade. I think PTM for all 5 was less than $500 from tascaparts

I figured I'd have to go the PTM route. Just found all 5 on Parts geek for 140.00. Figure that's a pretty good price. Now to find a good price to get them painted.

If those are new, that is an incredible price.

@daddycreswell Try fixing the faded door handles with Adam's Super VRT trim dressing. This product
will darken faded trim and contains SPF 35 UV protection to protect against further fading.

Here's a before/after on a plastic bumper step. I applied one coat of SVRT this last Sunday, and the second pic was taken just a few minutes ago. The darker appearance remained, even after the product was completely dry days later. You can also see that it helped hide most of the scuffs and scratches. (Note that the dark spots in the first pic are drops of water)

To protect against trim fading:

First, stay out of the automatic car wash, especially the touch-less ones, as they use harsh chemicals that are very bad for plastics, rubber and vinyl.

Second, protect the plastic trim, rubber and vinyl from sun fade by using Super VRT once month, applied per the directions.

Let me know if you have any questions.
