Not at all.

The TRX is a nice option for an offroad truck that has stupid amount of power.
Suspension wise offroad, watching back to back runs in the same sections between Gen 2/3 Raptors vs a TRX the Raptors seemed to handle jumps smoother/not be nose heavy, but the TRX isn't some slouch there either.

I was considering a TRX but was banking on a downturn on pricing once 93 went over 5 bucks.

The R will always hold some higher value due to the lack of supply. Hell, Raptors in general hold their value very well. 13/14 Gen 1 with "low" miles still can get 40k+ a decade later.

It is simply your preference. They are both great trucks. I have a 19 raptor and a 23 R. It took so long to find the R that I considered a TRX, but you're not getting one of those for $90k. The one I looked at was $123k and they had 4 left from the 6 they just got. This was about 6 weeks ago. It was a really nice truck with cooler features and loads of power, but it felt like driving an F250 vs a raptor. If you read the TRX forums, a lot of those guys say they prefer how the TRX handles. Go sit in one and check it out.

I have a 2020 Gen 2 raptor that's pushing 50,000 miles and I'm ready to get a new one. I really love this truck by the way. Been shopping around and I am finding new ones similarly equipped are going for right around 90k and I'm not finding any dealers willing to budge. I would love to go ahead and get the Raptor R, but forget about those prices. Which leads me to my question (and I can't believe this is coming out of my mouth), am I crazy for considering the TRX? It's similar performance to the R, but priced like a standard Gen 3 raptor. I know it's a Ram, but I will only keep it for 3 years. Do you all think in 3 years R's will be available for pricing that is not ridiculous?

I think it's always great to look. TRX is great. R is great. I had 2 Gen1 Raptors and have 2 Gen 2, 2019s. Love them. I do miss the V8, but man you can't beat the bang for the buck and great mileage on the 6 Cyl Gen 2. One of my Gen2 has Corsa Exhaust. Man it helps. It's just a 6. Not an 8. Different fun beast. Like a Buick Grand National .. I have one. Had several In old days! Just Different but fast as hell. Have old 85 and 92 GT 5.0. Love the 8. But GN fast and a unique way. Raptor R. Well if you can afford it, wth. Any opinions from anyone on my next Exhaust for other Gen 2 2019? Thanks all!

If you don’t care about consistent 8-10 mpg with a smaller gas tank, TRX has nicer interior, really nice vertical touch screen, better stereo, and a smoother ride. Can’t possibly go wrong. People approach these things, not saying you OP, as if they are life or death decisions that, once made, cannot go back upon which is nonsense. If you don’t like it, sell, trade and get something else. I’m not rich and yet I’ve owned 15 new vehicles since 2015.

I went from a 2020 Raptor to my 2021 TRX. I’m very happy with my choice, but you might not be. I think you need to start with taking a TRX and a 3rd Gen Raptor for a drive.

Honestly, if the used truck market hadn’t gotten ridiculous in 2021 and I didn’t find a dealer to order a TRX for below sticker when most were at sticker or charging an ADM, I’d still have the Raptor. Basically I traded my Raptor for $4,000 more than I paid for it and got a TRX for $6,000 off sticker.
