Do i need a transducer for a Lowrance if im just using it off road???

For the same price as the elite 5m gold I was gonna get.

Do I need the transducer? What does it do? Going to order today. If you know, please chime in.

Transducer is for the fishfinder. Unless you are "hunting tuna", you won't need it.

You just use an SD card to load maps on all those units

i dont know...... some of the guys have gotten their trucks in some pretty deep water......

Your going to need pontoons to get your truck to float to need a transducer... Its for depth finding and fish finding.. Unless of course your can fly but an altimeter would be better then..

Well I know my Raptor has flown a few times, but a GPS altimeter is more than enough for its short flight..

I don't believe that unit you linked too has GPS; pretty sure it's just a fish finder/sonar unit...

You are correct. He would need a chart plotter which in the 7 series would be HDS-7m Gen 2
