So I just wanted to post this to see if anyone has run into this issue.

When I was replacing the seals out of the rear shock bearing housing, I noticed that the diameter of the new / replacement flat washer was bigger than what came out of the housing. I attempted to install but it is just way to big. I noticed that the flat washers that come in the front shock rebuild kits are the same size that I removed from the rear housing but the flat washers that actually come in the rear rebuild kits are too large to run.

I dont suppose that there would be any negative downsides to just throwing the old one back in there but does anyone know whats up with this?

Flat washer? There are no washers in the seal kits.

Pic of what you are talking about?

If you see in the diagram, seal package b has an o ring, where A has a flat washer and seal in the inner most chamber.

which seal kit did you buy? All the upgraded ones other than FOX have a larger seal ring so that is not needed. It is just a spacer and you could "re use it" if you needed to.

Viaton seal kits like from shockseals.com offer better seals than OE Fox.

I had to order a replacement bearing housing from FOX since the bleeder screws were stuck, so I just went ahead and ordered everything from them since I was placing an order anyways. The seal kits are OE FOX. I just can't get my head around why this spacer would be a different size.

It's designed to lock. When u put them, up to each other diameter will be same when locked.

Or they sent the wrong seal.

I'll take a pic when I'm back around the shocks to compare what came out vs what they include in their kit.

Quick pic of the original oem seals on the left and the shockseals.com seals on the right.

The white/yellow one replaces the two part original.

Take a pic of the ID seals you have and I'm sure you will get the help here.

The left is what the fox kit came with. Right is what came out of bearing cap. Not even close to the same size.
