Dee Zee Tailgate Assist

Just installed yesterday and it seems like there is slack on the actual tailgate cable now. Is that cause of the piece I added between where the cable attached and the truck? I'm OCD so, you know how that goes.

I have a slight amount of slack and OCD also,but to be honest I didn't even give this much thought for some reason.
I think this thing works great.

The zerk fitting thingy seems to be giving people issues over time so look up the thread on how to fix it permanently..

Not to derail...today when I asked my daughter to close the tailgate she pulled the right side off the pin! I didn't know it was that easy to remove....
