I had the Ford 100k warranty already, so dealer noted it in my service record that any future transmission issues they would cover. 10k miles later, clunking and slipping in 5th and 7th, they took the transmission apart, 'wow something got hot in here', rebuilt it no charge to me. So like others say - no point asking for/doing a tear down and rebuild 'just in case', more wait and see and do your best to ensure you're covered if anything does go.</blockquote>
