Hey Guys
Background: 2018 Raptor / 802A package / 3.5l Ecoboost / completely stock / 57,607 miles.
So driving home the other day my truck became sluggish, rough idling, and hesitation was occurring then finally threw a code and went into limp mode for a small amount of time. Was able to get it back home and read the codes:
PP0019
P0300
P0301
P0302
P0303
P0390
P0394
Started to do some research and rested on the idea of the Camshaft position sensors in bank 2 (drivers side) and decided to replace them both. After replacement I went ahead and connected my computer with FORSCAN and started my truck. These are the codes that came up after the first try (i did clear the codes prior to running engine):
P0019
P052C
P0300
P0305
P0306
Now I am starting to get a bit frustrated because I knew if it wasn't those I would have to replace the VVT solenoids that are underneath the valve cover I had just replaced the month prior due to a crack (naturally). I tested the old solenoids to make sure I can hear the click and they sounded like they were a bit sluggish so I figured why not replace them anyways. Went to Ford the next morning and purchased the VVT solenoids and got to replacing them. After I was done I made sure that everything was hooked up and that I gave the battery sufficient time disconnected for a good computer reset. Started the truck back up and to no prevail it was doing the same thing with the same symptoms. I also did the "Misfire" test that FORSCAN says needs to be done after the camshaft position sensors are replaced (for both instances). Now the only other sensor I would have left that is directly connected to timing is the crankshaft position sensor. Spent the morning replacing it with flashlights and mirror aiding me since I didn't have the space to jack it up and remove the tire to get a better angle on it. After replacing it I made sure again that everything was hooked up and ready to go prior to starting the truck. With prayers sent up for it to work, to my excitement it did not haha here are the current codes:
P0019
The truck is still hesitating like its still misfiring and if I left it on long enough it probably would have popped up with more misfire codes because when I did the mode 6 testing in OBDII on FORSCAN i noticed the "MISFIRE COUNT" for cylinders 1-3 were counting misfires. It feels like its basically stalling. The cylinders that are misfiring are random because sometimes is bank 1 and sometimes its bank two. I'm lost and cant find much of anything on this when I scour the internet. Hopefully someone can help before I have to go to the "stealership" haha
Thanks in advance!
