Are you talking about the gauge top left? If so, that's your oil pressure which yes, should go to the middle upon startup. You can see this happen when you use auto start/stop. Take it for a drive with ASS on, hit a stop sign and watch that gauge drop to zero and back up when the truck restarts itself.
