I went with an E&G half safe. Got it from Apollo Optics. Just looked and they are $309 now.
Do we get any kind of discount through them?
Doesn't hurt to ask. But after inflation, $309 is a good price considering the quality and what I paid for mine four years ago. When I upgrade, I'm going to buy another.
I had the e&g in my gen 2. It’s a solid produc I would highly recommend. Install was a bit involved but manageable for most diyers…

The Gen 2 version seemed a bit more secure. I’m sure you could make the new one the same with a toggle bolt or two. For me though, i figure if they have the truck, they will get in.

I installed the E&G a week ago. It was a really easy install. You do have to remove the bottom of the console lid but that’s only one torx screw. Once the vault is in, you re-install the piece.
The vault is three self-tapping bolts through the bottom of the console. I don’t hear it rattle when driving. I like that there is both a key and a mechanical PIN.
