HoldenTX, I don't know about the rest of us, but im not driving around with open gas tanks in my cab smoking cigarettes. On the median, oh right, my truck is on fire, let me make a safe stop on the side of the street, turn on my fourways, and casually exit the vehicle. The cab is completely involved. If the fire started in the bed, it would have been some time prior to it entering the cab. Yeah, Ill get on that trade in, as soon as you stop huffing the fumes from your gas cans in the back seat.

1) Never did I use the words "click bait". I called it troll bait, which it was.

2) That's clearly a gen1, not a gen2. Not being able to differentiate them is your fault, but more so is making an assumption that you knew would garner more attention.

3) Even if your intent was pure (and I highly doubt it was), that post is akin to, "OMG, saw this house on fire. What's going on with houses? Are they not safe?!?!?!"

So let's summarize: You post a cell phone video, add your incorrect assumptions, and try to draw a poor correlation that the truck this forum is dedicated to is unsafe. And I'm the pleb? Ahahahaha! If that's true, I guess I'd rather be a pleb than... well, you.

But hey, the silver lining here is the forum appears to have lost a troll. I hope he sticks to his promise and doesn't return.

Why are we so defensive of these trucks? Yes, OP should have realized it was a Gen 1 on fire... but that should be the exact response he received. Not insults to his character and proposed suspicion of his integrity as a poster.

Different opinions or mistakes in this case don’t deserve to be attacked and shut down with fierce aggression.

There is certainly some validity to this; The Internet is full of keyboard tough guys, and people who think uninformed opinions are just as meaningful as those that are well thought out.

However, OP's post content also needs to be considered. It was not only ignorant, but clearly incendiary (no pun intended). There are plenty of forum members who post dissenting opinions of Raptors, but do so in a constructive manner. There are countless examples of civil dialog associated with these types of posts.

OP, on the other hand, posted a crappy cell phone video with a comment that might as well have been, "Look at this gen2 crap Ford is putting out!" Had his comment simply been something along the lines of, "Saw this video earlier. I wonder what caused this fire?"... None of this discourse would have occurred. He was clearly trolling, got called out for it, then proceeded to insult those who called his bluff. In this case, keyboard tough guy == OP.

So yeah, I think this one's pretty easy to stamp and categorize as, "Say stupid things, get called stupid."
